That's Totally Fetch

Chinese New Year Vlog

Hello Munchkin,

I hope you are doing well this fine day.

With my cousin being here, I have been doing a lot of “exploring” with her. Revisiting places I haven’t been to in ages. I have been filming all of our outings and I’m loading them onto my YouTube Channel. Which if you haven’t subscribed to… you totally should {That’s Totally Fetch YouTube}. We recently took a trip to the Nan Hua Temple in Bronkhorstspruit to partake in the Chinese New Year celebration. The day was an absolute scorcher but still so amazing and interesting.

It is the year of the rooster, the tenth sign in the zodiac. The Years of the Rooster include 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017, 2029. Unfortunately, if you all within the year of the rooster, your fortune does not look so good.

There were so many people there, it was insane. On ordinary days the temple is peaceful and can be visited whenever. It really is a master piece of a place. The beauty of it is just magical. I kept the vlog short and sweet, not giving too much away just in case any of you ever plan to visit.

I must discuss two things that saddened me on the day. The first is dress code. A post was issued on Facebook with regards to the dress code, asking that people dress respectively, that no shoulders are exposed, no short shorts and so on. Many people totally ignored this request and I feel that it was rather rude. If you go to a place of worship, especially a place that is not your own, you should give it that utmost respect. In future, I urge people to bare this in mind. The second issue that saddened me was the graffiti on the temples walls. This really upset me, and I was going to add the rant to my YouTube video but decided against it. The graffiti said “I love Jesus”. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, if you love Jesus then that is wonderful but don’t go and vandalise another place of worship just because it is not what you believe. I was informed that the same graffiti has been removed time and time again but the culprits come back and do exactly the same thing. I am not a religious person, I have respect for each and every culture/religion and see beauty in all of them and that it what I am asking of you. Respect each others beliefs, “love thy neighbour as thyself” as the bible versus said. Make peace not war. As every beauty pageant contestant would say… WORLD PEACE.

Enough rambling on. I hope you enjoy the short vlog/edit and if you would like to see more of these videos then let me know.
