Finding Your Passion

5 March 2018 | 4 Comments

Hello Lovelies,

Recently I watched a video on Facebook by Jay Shetty and the whole video was rather inspiring and a real eye opener {here’s a link in case you want to watch it – click here (“Everyone needs to hear this’)}. The video is about finding your passion and gunning for it. It hit home and it was the kind of video I needed to see that day. Being stuck in a job that adds no value to your life is draining. Waking up every morning to go do something that ultimately pays your bills and leaves you with next to no spending money to live life a little. Coming home to a place that you have worked so hard on to make your sanctuary, only to make dinner and then pass out on the couch from exhaustion. Is that really the way we should be living our lives? Ask yourself this question, if you inherited quite a bit of money (not enough to retire but enough), would you still carry on doing what you are doing?

Last year I made myself a promise that I would do whatever I could to go after my passion. I would focus more on the things that I loved and put more of my energy into them. I truly believe that we are all here for a purpose, we need to find that purpose and then focus our energy on that. Finding what makes me happy and getting lost in it sounds like an absolute dream. A dream I won’t stop chasing until it becomes a reality. If you really want something in life, you have to go for it with all your heart. Many of us are too afraid to make any big moves in life, any big changes and we shouldn’t be. That risk that you take, it could be a life changer. I would rather take it than spend the rest of my life thinking “what if?” In Jay Shetty’s video he says – “We are so anxious about what happens in the future, that we don’t enjoy the present. The result being we don’t live in the present or the future. We end up living feeling like we are never going to die and then die never having truly lived.” If that isn’t a powerful enough statement to make you rethink the way you are living your life then I don’t know what will be. If there is something that you can’t stop thinking about, something that fuels the fire in your soul, then surely it’s a chance worth taking?

As some of you will know, S and I have started focusing a lot of our energy on cinematography and photography. I never realized just how passionate I was up until this past weekend. We did a shoot with a South African blogger and I had so much fun. Before the shoot, my nerves were all over the place, millions of questions flooded my mind. “Is the lighting going to be good?” “Is she going to be comfortable with us?” and ultimately “Will she like our shots?” The more I thought this way, the more my anxiety started to flair up, my heart felt as if it was going to pop out of my chest, bursting into a billion pieces but I kept it cool, calm and collected. Once I started shooting, that feeling of anxiousness – faded and all I could think was I can’t wait to get home and edit. At that point I knew, this is where I’m suppose to be. I then remember turning to S and my heart smiled because not only have I found something I truly love doing but I get to do it with the person I truly love and that to me makes all of this that much more special. We walked away from the shoot giving each other tips for the next one, knowing where we went wrong and how we can improve on it. After editing them, we were both really happy with the results and so was the client. This made my almost heart attack, worth it.

Your first few times, doing something that’s important to you, will probably be some of the scariest times in your life. You don’t want to mess it up, you want everything to go perfectly. News flash though, nothing is ever perfect, there will be hiccups and there should be. How else do you expect to grow & better yourself and your skills? Some people will feel at a disadvantage gunning for something they are passionate about because of their situation, but if you truly believe that your life has more purpose than it does at this very point then regardless of your situation, you owe it to yourself to try. Everyone deserves to live a full life, everyone deserves to wake up in the morning ready to jump out of bed and wanting to start their day. Some of us will have to hustle more than others, just never give up, you’ll be much happier in the end.

“Without passion life is nothing.”

Something else I’m obviously passionate about is my blog. My makeup and my fashion. I’m having fun playing around with outfits and figuring out what works for me. This outfit in particular I’m crazy about. I don’t know why but I love it. I’ve worn it to a wedding (minus the boots, I wore black flats with wrap around the ankle ties) and then to a product launch. This time I popped on a felt hat to give it that little extra touch. Outfit Deets:

Felt Hat & Playsuit – Cotton On

Blazer & Handbag – Forever New

Boots – Call it Spring

I’m on meds that have helped a lot but I really wish to go off them, but I’m not sure how. Everyone like I mustn’t but I really need to go off. You are such a lovely girl, love your posts. Hi Sharne, people will always talk, let them, you know your truth and that is all that matters. Maybe slowly go off the meds. One day at a time. We are all stronger than we actually realize. We just have to put our minds to it. Thank you for reading and thank you for your kind words! I hope you are keeping well. Sending lots of love and positive vibes your way lovely! xxx
