Today I come to you with another skincare review. YUP! The obsession is realer than real. I just can’t help myself. Everyone is always on the lookout for the perfect foundation that will make their skin looks totally flawless. I believe that if you have your skincare down, you can purchase any foundation you want and your skin will look flawless.
L’Oreal Paris have launched 4 new products (well should I say 4 new products that just launched in South Africa) in their RevitaLift collection called Bright Reveal. The aim of the products is to give you glowing skin, correct uneven skin tone and reduce wrinkles. L’Oreal wants us to discover the power of glycolic acid at home. This is one of the main ingredients in the Bright Reveal range. What is glycolic acid? It is a natural ingredient made from sugar cane. Glycolic acid removes the top layer of dead skin cells and reveals a brighter and more radiant skin. Glycolic Acid is the gold standard in brightening skin. After the launch of this range, I couldn’t wait to get home and start testing out these bad boys. I was more excited than a kid in a candy store. Let’s break down each product.
The cleanser comes in a standard cleansing tube. The daily scrub cleanser contains gentle micro-pearls, allowing you to exfoliate impurities and dullness. It’s main ingredient is glycolic acid.
As we get older and our skin begins to age, its natural ability to shed dead skin cells slows down, therefore making the skin appear dull and uneven. With the help of the micro-pearls in the cleansing scrub, the glycolic acid is able to penetrate deep into the skin and removes any traces of dead skin cells. What I love about the cleanser is how gentle it is. It’s gentle enough to use in the mornings and evenings, which is what L’oreal suggests, in order to achieve the best skin results. L’Oreal’s claim for the cleanser is that “Skin tone looks more even and renewed. Skin textures feels smother and more refined.”
I have to say that I totally agree. My skin doesn’t feel tight after the cleanser. It feels refreshed and feels smooth as a baby’s bottom. My skin tone is definitely more even. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this product. I only have one recommendation, as I love to double cleanse, I would suggest first removing your makeup with any makeup remover of your choice. I am currently using the Clinique “Take the Day off Balm”. Once all traces of makeup are gone, then follow with the cleansing scrub. I just feel that this way the product can really do its job.
The brightening peel pads are the star of the range, they are a dermatologist inspired anti-wrinkle and brightening treatment. Use the textured side of the pad, this helps resurface dull, uneven skin tone and smoothes out the skin’s rough texture. You get a tub with 30 pads in it. The pads are to be used every night after cleansing. The brightening peel pads are a very concentrated treatment, containing 10% of Glycolic acid.
L’Oreal really stepped up their game with this product. The pads are one of my favourite products from the range. After a month of using them, my skin has never looked better. I mean when your man turns to you and says “your skin is really looking great” then giiiirrrrlllll, best you know whatever product you are using is a winner. Their is some slight redness in my skin after using the pads, however by morning they are gone. If you do have overly sensitive skin then maybe take this as a caution. I love the way my skin feels after using the pads. Refreshed and super clean.
The dual moisturiser is L’Oreal’s first ever dual action, anti-wrinkle and brightening treatment. You get two amazing treatments in one. Can I get a “YAAAAASSSSS!” The one chamber contains 4% glycolic acid and the other is an infusion of Vitamin C and Pro-Retinol. Pro-Retinol aids in improving pigmentation marks, fine lines and wrinkles as well as gives the skin a more youthful appearance. Apply this moisturiser every night after the peeling pads.
The moisturiser applies very easily and absorbs fairly quickly. I did notice slight peeling on my forehead when applying the moisturiser, however that did stop after the 2 week. I did read up that retinol does tend to do that. You don’t need to pump more than once as a little product goes a long way. My skin doesn’t feel greasy after application, I’m just obsessed with how lightweight the moisturizer is and how fabulous my skin feels.
Last but certainly not least is the day moisturiser. This little guy is packed with all the great ingredients like the “Dual Overnight Moisturiser” AND the added bonus of an SPF 30! A moisturiser and sunblock in one. HELL YEAH!
The scent of the moisturiser reminds me of sunscreen, sunscreen reminds me of summer holidays and therefore that makes me happy. The texture of it is very much like sunscreen as well. It absorbs into the skin very quickly. The moisturiser definitely left my skin feeling hydrated and looking glowy. I love the fact that it has an SPF in time, sun protection is so vital.
As you can probably tell I am SUPER chuffed with the L’Oreal Bright Reveal range. My skin is looking so good and I am finally at a point where I’m actually comfortable not wearing makeup in public. I honestly wish I had something bad to say about the products but I don’t (No, L’Oreal is not paying me to say this). The products really did do wonders for my skin. And I am grateful that L’Oreal invited me to the launch and introduced me to my new skincare regime. I can in no way sit here and say that these products will do the wonders that they have done for me. Everyone’s skin is different and reacts to products differently. I can however, sit here and say that I think that the L’Oreal RevitaLift Bright Reveal range is the freaken BOMB.com and I hope it does for you what it did for me. It is said that the range is suitable for all skin types, however as mentioned earlier, if you have VERY sensitive skin then I would be slightly cautious. The range can be bought at your local drugstore (Clicks/Dischem) or if you are an online shopper like me, they can be purchased from Zando or Foschini for Beauty. L’Oreal does consider the Bright Reveal range to be more on the “Premium” side, in comparison to the rest of the products in the RevitaLift collection.
