That's Totally Fetch

My Fancy Pants

17 September 2018 | 4 Comments

Following trends isn’t a big deal for me. Sure, I love seeing what’s hot on the runways but I don’t always necessarily love what I see. There’s obviously a little something that will catch my eye, whether that be a color, a style or a pattern. A trend that hit 2018 has stolen my heart and I don’t see anything else replacing it. If you had to ask 2014 Dee if she would rock a pair of these, the answer would be a hard no. Right now, I think the item is so timeless – thank God for growing up. Skinny jeans are a thing of the past (although I’ll still rock mine, LOL) – the wider the hem the better. Wide legged pants are the business at the moment. If I could have a closet full of W.L.Ps I would. Whether the pants are designer or high street I want them all! For those of you hating this trend, let me list some advantages for you:

  1. Wide legged pants make you look taller, especially if you purchase a high waisted pair – HOLLA at my Shortys!
  2. They can be dressed up or down. You will have outfit options for days. Throw on a pair of heels and a button up shirt and you got yourself an office look. Alternatively, throw on a pair of sneakers and a tee and voila – street chic.
  3. Comfort! Need I say more. A high waisted pair is always a winner for me. It hides my muffin top, sucks in my stomach and elongates my body. #winning
  4. They are flattering AF.

Finding the right width of the hem, the length of the pants and whether you should opt for a mid rise or high waisted pair is vital to owning the W.L.P game. Hmmmm… should I do a blog post on how to style them right? Let me know in the comments below. I find these pants to be perfect for the summer time (especially on those days that you are too lazy to shave), there is nothing worse than being out in the heat and wearing tight fitting clothing that lands up sticking to you because you’re sweating like a pig.

This pair of pants I got gifted by a friend’s uncle. When I first tried them on, they were too big but I was determined to make them fit. So I simply had them tailored. This pair of W.L.P’s is from Prada, and if I’m not mistaken it is from last seasons collection. I paired the pants with a simple button up white shirt. I didn’t want to go for a very “formal” look, so I stuck to a very casual white shirt and I only tucked it in slightly. I then popped on a pair of black booties, grabbed my black Colette by Colette Hayman handbag and I was good to go. I also stuck to silver stacked necklaces to compliment the silver touch on the tip of my booties. The look is simple and yet stylish… well at least I think so.

What trend are you currently obsessing over at the moment? Are you on the W.L.P bandwagon like me?

Wishing you beauties a fabulous week ahead!

I’m really enjoying bold colours & patterns at the moment, but I still adore my classic pieces and will always be drawn to classic items in general. I’ve been on the hunt for a perfect pair of wide legged pants that could work with all seasons and also be versatile – like a black pair, or check pair. Loved this post!

A pop of color is always a winner. Take a look on Superbalist or even pop into Zara. Thank you so much for reading Jess!! <3
