That's Totally Fetch

New Year, New Blog

1 February 2016 | 7 Comments

Hello Loves,

Firstly I would like to wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR – I know, I’m totally delayed in this department! May 2016 be a glorious one for you. Take risks, be yourself & most importantly have fun. You only have one life, so make the most of it. Secondly, I want to thank all my reader for their support and encouragement. It means so much to me. I love sharing my favourite products and outfits with you. I know I have been rather MIA but I just needed a good break from everything. So much happened in 2015 with regards to my health, losing loved ones and work was just so CRAZY busy. I needed to regroup.

So why the name change? Well… last year I came across a website that had exactly the same name as my blog, what made things worse, the font used for the title was EXACTLY the same as mine too. After throwing an unnecessary BF, I calmed down and decided to simply change the design of my title. However, the idea of another site with the same name as mine started playing tricks on my mind. Don’t ask me why because I had been asking myself the same question. I felt like I was going crazy. I tried to convince myself that my site was totally different to theirs. For one, mine is a blog and theirs is a dress shop. But NOPE. That didn’t work. A lot of thought went into this and I figured the only way forward was to tweak a few things. Mainly… my name. And thus, “That’s Totally Fetch” was born. The name has a personal joke behind it and as I am the biggest Gretchen Weiner’s fan, I thought I’d try make it happen for her. I had outgrown my previous design and decided that the entire site now needed a revamp. *FACE PALM* So the planning started, along with my brainy boyfriend of course. I put a lot of thought into the layout of my blog. I wanted it to be as “me” as possible. A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into this. OK… I’m only kidding about the blood, and actually… there weren’t tears, just slight tantrums. BUT there was sweat, holy shiz, Joburg was FLIPPEN hot the first week of January. I felt like my skin was melting. I thought that the 1st February was the perfect time to launch. As this is the month of love and my blog is one of my biggest loves.

I have been told countless times that I will lose my ranking in the “blogging” world but that doesn’t phase me. I don’t blog for rankings or likes (although I appreciate it so very much), I blog because I love it. I loving having my own little space on the internet where I can share what I love. I love trying out new products and dressing up. I don’t post articles for the sake of it, if my whole heart isn’t into it, then it’s not worth it. I always try my best to give 100% of myself in my posts and most importantly I’m always going to be honest.

Along with launching my new website in the new year, I’m going to make a mini to do list for 2016. I refuse to call it a “resolution” list because I feel that, that particular word jinxes all goals.

So my list is as follows:

* Travel More (whether it be inside or outside South Africa)

* Be Open to New Experiences

* Smile More (Resting-Bitch-Face-Syndrome really is a pain in me arse)

* Love More

* Try eat less Nutella (Totally failing this one, but the thought was there)

* Learn something new

So at the end of 2016, I can reflect back on this post and reward myself (probably with Nutella or a shopping spree) for achieving what I set out to do.

I hope you guys like the new design. I have a lot planned out for this year and I can not wait to share it all with you.

Sending you big smooches
