Benefit Cosmetics Bigger & Bolder Brow Kit

Hello Beauties,

As some of you may have already seen Benefit Cosmetics has come out with a new range of eyebrow products. For those of you that have followed me for a while you will know how IMPORTANT brows are to me. Trust me when I say they speak louder than words. The Brow is everything. I will not get into a 5 minute rant as I’ll probably do that in my Eyebrow Tutorial, that will follow shortly. Otherwise, If you would like to know all about my “browsession” then you can check out my post on the Essence: How to make Brows Wow {click here…}

Back to the review. The new brow collection consists of 15 products to perfect your brow game. Purchasing one of their kits was a must. I just had to see if the products were as great as I had heard. I picked up the Bigger and Bolder Brows Kit. In the kit you get Ka-Brow (3.0g), Ready, Set, Brow! (3.5ml), High Brow Pencil (2.8g) as well as Brow Stencils. Benefit also includes a pamphlet with some of their signature tips and tricks. I was so excited to get home and try this all out. I have never used gel on my brows before and I was quite eager to see if I would take a liking to it. I have been a powder brow girl for years but change is good sometimes.

Ka-Brow is a creamy gel product that helps you sculpt, define and fill in your brows. The product comes in 6 shades. You will definitely find a shade that suits you. I picked up shade 5 as I prefer a darker eyebrow. What I love about Ka-Brow is that the product is buildable, the creamy formula is great. Once the gel has dried, it doesn’t budge, the product is totally smudge-free. The best part about KA-Brow is that it is WATERPROOF! Yup you heard me, so your brows can look on point even when swimming this summer. The packaging is so adorable. I feel like Benefit Cosmetics always have the cutest packaging. The little pot has a hard angled brush, that will help you achieve a precise application. I can say without a doubt that this has become my favourite brow product. Ka-Brow retails for R335.00, this might be a little pricey for the girl on a budget but I think it’s worth every cent.

Ready, Set, Brow!

Once Ka-Brow has been applied, you are ready to set your brows with Benefit Ready, Set, Brow! setting gel. The product aims to shape and tame your brows. I have to be honest and say that I have never used a setting gel for my brows before. I have never thought it was necessary. However, I do see the difference. I have a few stubborn hairs, particularly by my arch that just don’t sit still. The setting gel, seemed to keep those bad boys in check all day. The formula is super lightweight and did not flake at all. The wand is dual sided, the one side has longer bristles than the other, helping you achieve maximum precision. Ready, Set, Brow! also retails for R335.00, again rather steep for the girl on a budget. I wouldn’t say that you HAVE to have this product but for the ladies struggling with stubborn brows this really does help them stay in place.

High Brow Pencil

Last but certainty not least finish off your perfect brow look with the High Brow Pencil. The aim of the pencil is to accentuate your arches for brighter, boosted and younger-looking eyes. The creamy formulae glides on beautifully and is nice and blendable, it dries into a matte finish making it look very natural. The Pencil retails for R305.00.

The set also comes with two stencils to help you with shaping your brows. I must be honest, I’m not a huge fan of the stencils because I prefer free handing. However the stencils are extremely beneficial to a beginner.

I’m pretty sure that you can tell that these three products for the Benefit Brow Collection get a big thumbs up from me. I would recommend buying the Kit retailing at R475.00 at selected Red Square stores. It works out a lot cheaper than buying each product individually. If you have a browsession like I do then trust me when I say you won’t be disappointed.

I will put together a brow tutorial using the Brow Kit, as a brow tutorial has been requested in the past and I have totally slacked when it comes to my Youtube channel, so keep your eyes peeled. Make sure you won’t miss out on the video by subscribing to my Youtube channel. Link below.

Have a fabulous day and remember:

Would love to see a tutorial on yr u tube site – for someone like myself who doesn’t often use much make-up I find them invaluable.
