I hope the start to 2017 has been a super one. Over the past year my makeup collection has been growing at a rapid rate and I’m loving it. I get so excited when purchasing a new product. All I want to do is go home and “play”. I’m happy to say that I have finally added the Carli Bybel Palette to my makeup collection, thanks to S (you did good, kid). I got gifted the palette for Christmas and I couldn’t be happier. Carli Bybel was one of the first Beauty YouTubers that I started watching and still do to this day. So when she teamed up with BH Cosmetics and came out with the palette back in 2015, I knew it had to be good and I knew I had to have it. For those of you that live in South Africa, you will know the struggle is real when trying to purchase makeup brands from overseas. They either turn out being fakes or they never arrive or customs costs you more than the actual product. None the less, I know this review is a year late but better late than never.
I now understand the craze surrounding the palette, BH Cosmetics site crashed the day the palette launched because it was in such high demand. Carli, being the beautiful person that she is, made sure that everyone that wanted the palette got it.
The palette contains 10 eye shadows that are a mix of matte and shimmer as well as 4 highlighters, although I’ve used the highlighters as eye shadow too. The shades that are in the palette are definitely my kind of shades. I really feel like this is the perfect “beginner” palette. You can go from a toned down matte look to a fierce evening look in just one palette, making this great for travelling as well. The packaging is lightweight and has a mirror. She really thought of it all. Other than the affordable price, there are so many pros to this palette. The pigmentation is fabulous and the product is easily blended. The highlighter is so bright that you can see it shining from space! The palette is vegan friendly, cruelty free & paraben free. To add the cherry on top, she’s added a bit of a motivational quote – “Aspire to Inspire”. For those of you that watch her channel you will know that she always starts it off with a quote. I thought this was a nice personal touch.
I feel as if the pictures don’t do the swatches justice.
One of the downside that I have is that there is a bit of fall out, but nothing major. Since the colors are quite neutral, all you have to do is wipe it away or just do what I do and tap the makeup brush above the chosen color and the excess powder will fall off = no wastage. The other downside is that I wish there was more… but that’s me just being greedy!
I would highly recommend this palette. It’s definitely a must for the makeup lover. Carli Bybel you get two thumbs up from me! I’m hoping she comes out with another palette, I definitely won’t wait a year to get it.
In case you living in South Africa and you want to get a palette, S purchased mine from Makeup_Shmakeup (instagram) for R550.00. Not so afforable for the South African however, you can also order it from BH Cosmetics for $20.00 (currently on sale for $14.50).
Let me know if you have tried out the Carli Bybel Palette and if so… what are your thoughts?
Remember to stay Fabulous!
