Essence: How to make Brows Wow

15 April 2016 | 1 Comment

Hello Beauties,

I consider myself to be a bit of a browzilla {def. noun. An individual who exhibits weird, unusual or rude behaviour when confronted with unattractive eyebrows}. I honestly can not help the twitch that my body does or the facial expressions that take over my face. I have tried to control it and I must say I am much better than I use to be. Your eyebrows are one of the most important features that you have. They set the tone of your entire face. I had a good rant about my obsession in a previous post {click here...} and I will refrain from having another one. All I will ask is that you control the brow. Shaving them off should never be an option, it should be illegal in fact. And if Bert from the Muppet show is someone you look to for inspiration then you need to re-evaluate the situation. There are tons of tutorials and products out there that can help you perfect your brow game.

Today’s post is about the Essence: How to make Brows Wow kit. I picked it up in Dischem a few weeks back as my eyebrow kit was kaput. The packaging is what attracted me. I love animal print, so this was right up my alley. It’s so super cute, as is all packaging of Essence products. The kit consists of 3 shades of brown powder, a gorgeous soft highlighting powder, a mini pair of tweezers and an application brush. The three brown shades are called: “love blondes”, “love em’ all” and “love brunettes”. For obvious reasons.

The shadows glide on really nicely and are well pigmented. The little angle brush works really well, even though I am more of a fan of brushes with a longer base. As cute as the tweezers are I just can’t work with them, it could be because I have stubby fingers but I just cant seem to grip the hairs that need to be plucked. End verdict, super chuffed with my brow kit:

Affordable, at just R115.50. Cutest Packaging. Works like a bomb.

It is the perfect beginners product for filling in brows. The only thing that I do wish is that Essence came out with a brow kit that had the three shades in three different kits. As I am not going to use the “love blondes” shade.

I will be coming out with a tutorial on how I fill in my eyebrows, as I have been asked many times. It’s really the easiest thing in the world. A few tips:

1.If you get a little too tweezer happy, put them down and get a professional to do it. The Pam Anderson look has never been a thing.

2.Just like Moses parted the Red Sea, you need to part those brows.

3.Always fill them in. Trust me, it makes the biggest difference. You’ll go from feeling like peasant Cinderella to Princess Cinderella in 0.2 seconds.

Stay fabulous and keep those eyebrows on point.

[…] As some of you may have already seen Benefit Cosmetics has come out with a new range of eyebrow products. For those of you that have followed me for a while you will know how IMPORTANT brows are to me. Trust me when I say they speak louder than words. The Brow is everything. I will not get into a 5 minute rant as I’ll probably do that in my Eyebrow Tutorial, that will follow shortly. Otherwise, If you would like to know all about my “browsession” then you can check out my post on the Essence: How to make Brows Wow {click here…} […]
