I can not believe that October is over, this year has just flown by but you know what they say… time flies when you having fun!
I thought I would share some of my favorite products that I picked out in October. Check them out and let me know what you think.
1. Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Daily Scrub & Oil-Free Moisturizer.
For the past few months I have been testing out some new skincare products. I’ve always used Dermalogica or Estee Lauder however as much as I love the products, they weren’t really agreeing with my wallet. I had to find something that was more budget friendly. For the past 2 months I’ve been using Neutrogena’s Visibly Clear Grapefruit Daily Scrub and I FREAKEN love it. The smell is heavenly and it leaves my skin feeling as soft as a baby’s bum! In the liquid are microbeads which exfoliate your skin. I totally recommend this to anyone with Oily Skin. After cleansing my face, I pop on the Pink Grapefruit Oil-Free Moisturizer which smells just as sweet and leaves my skin feeling amazing. A total winner!
2. Dirty Works Berry Berry Detox Mask
I have this really odd routine whenever I walk into a Clicks Store. I walk straight to the beauty section, pick up the Dirty Works Berry Berry Detox Mask and stare at it for a few minutes. Once I am done, I put it done and walk away. Every time! It’s the strangest thing. It must have been the packaging because I think it’s super cute. This month I decided to actually purchase the product and get over my weird little routine. As you open up the lid you get this whiff of fruity yumminess. The mask smells absolutely divine. Applying a thin layer of the mask to my skin, I started looking a bit like a pale Fiona in Ogre mode. The product is a lightish green color.
The mask only takes 10 minutes to set however I find that it dries slightly patchy but no train smash. I rinsed it off with warm water and my skin felt ridiculously smooth. It had this glow to it and I’m digging it. The end result definitely makes up for the patchiness. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone that has sensitive skin . It tingled a little when I first applied it. If you do have sensitive skin and really want to try it out, test it out on a small patch of skin before caking your whole face. Lesbe-honest every girl loves a little pampering and this is the perfect product for a quick pamper sesh.
3. Maybelline Baby Lips
Recently every corner I turn I would see someone with Maybelline’s Baby Lips Lip Balm. So I decided to go out and get one for myself to see what the big fuss was about, and boy do I see it. This is by far the best Lip Balm I have used and trust me I’ve tested a lot of them. The Lip Balm is super moisturizing and lasts a good 3 hours before you find yourself reapplying. The Lip Balm comes in a variety of color, giving your lips a nice tint. Head out and grab yourself one, I assure you, you won’t regret it.
I have always been a fan of Maybelline mascaras. I’ve always purchased the Great Lashes – Lots of Lashes mascara & the Colossal Volum Express. This time around I decided to try out the Colossal Volum Express Smokey Eye. It doesn’t differ too much from the Colossal Volum Express. The color is slightly more intense – giving it a big thumbs up in my books. There is absolutely no clumping. Maybelline mascaras never disappoint. A definite must have for your makeup collection.
And remember Lovelies, change your mascara every 3 months.
5. Make Up Brushes
I have wanted to purchase new brushes for a while now as mine are about 6 years old and I just feel like a new set. Checking out the prices has given me several heart attacks, I should know by now that brushes aren’t cheap but DAAAAMMMNNNN!
While at Edgars the one day I came across the Beautique Brushes. The brushes were ridiculously affordable and so I decided WHAT THE HECK. I bought 5 brushes and gave them a good test drive. I was pretty darn impressed (southern accent). The bristles are so nice and soft and pick up product really well. I honestly have nothing bad to say about the brushes. I obviously don’t have a clue as to how long they will last but, I’m not all that phased. Right now, I am super happy with them and that is all that matters. The prices range from R29 – R100. I would REALLY recommend these to anyone that’s starting out with makeup or to anyone looking for affordable brushes that get the job done.
