I really can’t get over how fast this year has gone. It’s insane. We saying goodbye to September and welcoming October already. The year so far hasn’t quite panned out the way I hoped it would but at the end of the day everything happens for a reason. It’s been a challenging year to say the least but I feel like I’ve come out on top. I feel stronger, I feel like I know who I am and what I want. It’s a liberating feeling and that to me is the greatest accomplishment. Sometimes in life you need those bad moments to really appreciate the good ones.
One of the biggest things that I have learned is how important it is to take time out for yourself. I have mentioned this before in previous posts and I cant stress this enough. We get so lost in life that we land up forgetting who we are and what we enjoy doing. We get caught up in our relationships, in our jobs, reaching the next goal, that we forget to just stop and breathe. You need to find something to do for yourself, weather it be a stroll in the park, sitting under the trees and reading a book, going to watch a movie or taking up a new hobby. I see it as taking yourself on a date. Whatever it is, do it for you. Trust me, your partner will be there when you get back. My relationship is one place I lost myself, I had no life outside of it. I became way too dependant on having a partner, and I never use to be like that. I’ve always seen myself as this strong independent woman and I lost sight of that because I was so consumed in my relationship. So…I decided to get a life. First step was to find happiness in my own skin and from there, slowly everything else fell in place. Remember that it’s ok to do things by yourself because at the end of the day if you can’t enjoy your own company then how can you expect others to enjoy it? Balancing your independent life and your dependant life is an art worth mastering.

This Jackie Jumpsuit from Forever New stole my heart. Its simple, feminine and so comfortable. Maxi dresses and Jumpsuits are my go to outfits in summer. I feel like I should be boarding a yacht when I wear it. I paired it with a pair of Aldo strappy heels.
